York’s May 09 Energy and Climate Fair was a great success. Over 200 people attended. Check out the photos on the web site.

York has an independent, ad-hoc group of local citizens York Energy Efficiency Committee whos mission is to respond to the global warming crisis by promoting energy efficiency, alternative energy, and environmental initiatives throughout the town of York, Maine. A Green Building Code unanimously approved for a public hearing before placement on the town ballot and  Local residents will have the option of constructing wind turbines to provide energy if a zoning ordinances moves forward in the May2009 town election. A revised version of the Planning Board’s proposed “Small Wind” ordinance and has received strong support from the town’s governing board.
